Derek smelled the change in Scott before he saw it. Allison. He didn't know about Allison either. Or their being married. Everything hurt and nether wolf knew what to say.
"How about we stop with the assumptions right now, kiddo," the sheriff said, stepping closer to the bed. "Lots of stuff isn't the way you thought it would be when you were a kid."
Melissa came back with the release papers, handing the clipboard to Derek who just looked totally lost. "Just at the bottom of these three, okay?"
